    Greetings,


    Explanation
    So therekt sold me an account on the 14th of Feb, and I was obliged to pay him $50 for it after providing me with 2 screenshots of the toon - lvl 33 mercenary on Epic Duel.

    Then, on the morning of 16th of Feb, I was unable to log into the account using my password, nor was I able to recover the pw via my email that was used to link the account.

    I did leave him a msg regarding this issue, but you can clearly see how this all adds up.

    Either he tried to pull a fast one on me, since I paid via gift, or he was NOT the original owner, like he claimed to be, and somebody recovered the account putting both of us at a disadvantage. However, I've been trading for several years, and it all points towards him attempting to scam me over a mere $50.

    Regardless of what happened, I disputed the transaction, and I recovered my money. I will await his reply to see if he can prove me wrong, and will also censor out any information that's tied to the account just in case he had and still has no involvement in this ordeal, but I highly doubt that.

    I hate how you can't edit your own posts.

    It DID say incorrect password. I tried the old email as the username, and just in case, tried my email that was linked to the account, but both methods did not work.

    It DID NOT say the account was disabled, otherwise I wouldn't have made a scam thread regarding this incident.

    Alright, I've seen and heard, I was busy when this was happening, sorry.
    As I said I am the original owner of the account and I would solve your problems, and in here you said that the account is recalled?
    The only way to find that out is to contact support with your email that you changed the account to..
    They will say what has happened, I expect to see that reply as you will be acting as the new owner of the account trying to get it back as the email has been 'severed'?

    If the account was recalled, it should notify you via email or if I requested for the email to change you would have needed to accept it.

    You have also refunded the payment via PayPal without this being resolved, you assumed that I was scamming you, but when this is resolved I will expect the payment to be released back, as I now have a negative balance.

    I'll wait for you when support contacts you back, email with the original email you I confirmed to transfer the account to you with.

    They'll either say you have changed the email or I have, in my case, I had nothing to do with it.

    The email getting 'severed' I highly doubt it. There has been no such thing I've heard of, the only possible way is either.

    1) The buyer recalling the account so the seller has no access to it, changed the email.
    2) The seller has a secondary email account which he transferred the account to.

    Both of these are very plausible, the only way to prove it is to wait for what Artix Entertainment Support says on their letter back to @godsuxx

    They should either have a disabled account, this isn't the case.
    A stolen account, etc. And so on.

    I have only been trading for a little while since I joined at 1/10/16, but it seems that only you and me have access to the account, provided that I didn't do anything, received no notification, also I am the original owner of the account, I can prove it to you, ask me any question.

    It is only either of us who has changed the email of the account resolving to this issue, there is no 3rd person in this debate.

    It is either you are trying to pull a scam on me, or I am in your case.

    Contact support with your own email that you purchased the account with as I said.
    They'll respond with sufficient evidence to help us in our case, and post it here.

    I expect that to be done to help us resolve this.

    And it seems that I may have solved the issue here in a matter of seconds, it is plausible that @godsuxx has changed the account email to another.

    This should explain it.
    The buyer tried to scam me and get his money back, whilst keeping the account I had traded with him.
    This is very plausible, which explains the email getting 'severed'.

    And in the midst of this, I checked @godsuxx history, and seen him offer for 3 accounts at the same time, with mine being the most active, what would happen if I had not been active? Or if those other 2 could have responded? (You can check his postings on EpicDuel threads)

    As you can clearly see his PayPal email matches with the account I have sent a request to.
    It is plausible that this happened.

    In a second option I can try recovering the account because I haven't via email with the transaction ID's, but judging on the new weapons the EpicDuel Mercenary character has YOU @godsuxx have already purchased items with varium or what not.

    Which means you have paid for the items, providing you with sufficient information to have the account.

    If the case is that I am correct and you @godsuxx have tried to scam me, I am expected to either receive my money or use PlayerUp's Fraud Combat system, which involves getting debt collectors, either way I will get my money back, as I have provided proof I have not tampered with the account you have purchased.

    Not to add on, but you had multiple times to think of the plan, as in the PlayerUp system you had said, 'give me time to think' could this have been your elaborate plan all along?
    You also suggested using playerup's Middleman system, although I wasn't comfortable. So I suggested to stick with PlayerUp's MM, although you refused and sent me payment via Friends and Family through PayPal since you can't dispute it and you agreed, later I realised you can disputed the payment.

    I see what you're doing I'll wait back to hear from you.

    Also you have said that you have done several years of trading, this could have been your plan all along couldn't it have been?
    To keep the account, report a few days later, change the account email and took advantage of the fact it wasn't a Middleman trade.

    Next time for sure, I don't care about the waiting time, I will definitely always go via Middleman.

    Ok, now you're just assuming and making false speculations, while I only took precautionary methods, aka., reversed the money, and listed the thread as a 'possible' attempt at a scam. I've seen these incidents occur way too many times in the past, and it has all pointed towards a definite scam from the seller.


    If you looked at my attached photos, you can clearly see that I COULD NOT recover the password to the account using the email that was linked - [email protected], and did not even bother to use the original (therekt's) email address as that would have been too obvious, but you seemed to have proved my point.


    If I HAD changed the email, I would not have started this whole ordeal. As to my knowledge, I thought it was more appropriate for the OO (original owner), which in this case is therekt, to recover the account using the original email that was used to CREATE the account. The whole process looks pretty easy, and I still think it is the best way to recover it.


    I DID NOT wish to compromise the security of the account just in case there could have been a misunderstanding, and there is no point trying to use [email protected] that was linked to it due to the fact that using the email to try to recover the password has failed as you can see in the photos.


    What's highly suspicious regarding this whole transaction is the poor usage of 3rd party programs such as Skype, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, or etc. Why use a chatting program that does not record all discussions made between both parties, which could prove to be valuable evidence in a case such as this? Why resort to using such a chatting program when you can use any 3rd party program on your phone, tablet, or etc. nowadays which gives me IMMEDIATE access to you with convenience and likewise.


    Your reason not to use any outside chatting software was not very logical, and it had nothing to do with security whatsoever. I've traded for nearly 9-10 years and have had no problem using MSN or Skype.


    Of course, I'm pretty sure you're busy with your work, but when it comes to virtual trading or trading in general, communication is vital, and due to our timezone differences, it's very, very hard to get in touch with you as I have to wait nearly 12 hours just for you to log on, while I'm on Skype almost the entire day regardless of where I am. Do you understand what I'm trying to say here?


    Is there an issue with trying to buy several accounts at a time? Not really since I recently bought another ED account without much issue, and what seems to bother me is that once I changed the email to the said account, it automatically changed the username to the adjusted email, which is quite strange. That DID NOT occur with your account. I need more clarification on this one. If ANYBODY from the ADMIN staff wishes to see the evidence regarding this, please contact me.


    The account that is linked to [email protected] has no ties to the ED account sold by therekt.

    Throwing bold assumptions and false speculations is not the way to go. Mind you, I still have kept my cool and have not postulated anything against you or any of your other transactions on this website. Please refrain from doing so unless you have a sufficient amount of evidence to support it. So far, everything that I've said has been backed up with evidence.


    In conclusion, all I've learned from therekt's response is that I should contact support using [email protected], and he has nothing further to shed light on this issue other than throwing mindless conjectures at me. However, is there any point in doing that since I can't even recover the password using that exact email?

    I suggest that he attempts to recover the account since, according to him, he is the Original Owner. I want to make sure there has been no misunderstanding between both parties and wish to not get the account banned due to the amount of emails that have been linked to therekt's account.

    Also, I usually DO NOT send payments via paypal gift as it is very difficult to dispute the payment just in case anything happens. I just happened to get lucky on the reversal.

    However, seeing as how therekt is a verified member, even though he's only been on the website since Jan, and how cheap the account was, the nature of my reluctance seemed to have faded, so I decided go through with the payment which was a poor mistake on my part.

    I did not think someone would go this far just to con me for a mere $50, but we'll continue to see what has transpired here before we throw accusations.

    I request that theretk recover his account using the original email that was used to create it. That will shed a whole new light on this case, and I will know that he IS indeed the original owner. If not, then we'll continue on from there.

    I am sorry for the inconvenience I have caused.
    I will now contact Artix Entertainment Support to see what's going on.

    Since I don't know whether @godsuxx or I had to do with it.

    A little update on the matter.

    I used the password recovery system after gaining therekt's consent via chat, and this is what I found. Recover Lost Account

    As you can see, the email has been changed without my knowledge. From what I could gather from this debacle, it is very questionable whether therekt is the actual ORIGINAL OWNER to the account or not.

    There is a lot of suspicion and mystery encircling this account, and I DO NOT wish to involve myself any further.

    With mine at the account.
