Hello everybody. I'm new here. I would like to talk about experience
SE Logitech in Russia. My English is not very good, so sorry for any errors.

Your forum I found by accident, looking for serial numbers of devices in Google

I started SE in 2011. My first replaced device was the MX Revolution Mouse. Prior to this, in 2010 and earlier support Logitech asked to physically destroy the replaced device (break it with a hammer, drown, etc.) so that it was impossible for them to use. By the time my first request for this practice was abandoned.

By 2017, I have about 300 successful device replacements, perhaps more, but I'm too lazy to count. My good friend has about the same number.

In 95% of cases, support requests a photo of the device on a sheet of paper with the reference number as well as photo serial numbers from the device. Almost always request a photo of a purchase receipt.

In 2011 for the first month of "work" I received a G19 keyboard, a G27 steering wheel, a Performance MX mouse and a G930 headset. The steering wheel did not really like me and I sold it, and then I realized that I could make money on it, began to make more requests for various expensive devices to receive and sell them. Once I wrote about the problem with the speakers Z-5500. Standard procedure, product photo, serial numbers, purchase document. In the end they tell me that they can not deliver Z-5500 to Russia and offer as compensation any goods from their site for up to £ 350.

Then I realized that this is a gold mine, I can get absolutely any of their devices with the help of the speakers and then eventually get a replacement for them. Snowball effect. It was ******* cool!

After a while problems began, support agents turned on the logic, and it became reasonable to ask why I did not go to the store where I bought the device (in fact it is standard practice in Russia: bought - broke - carry it to the store). I began to tell them that the store gave a warranty for the device only 1 year, when both the majority of devices Logitech warranty 3 (now 2) years. It seems that I bought the device more than a year ago, the warranty of the store was over, but the manufacturer's warranty is in effect. Eventually they got fed up with this, they read Russian legislation, found an item there, that the store did not have the right to underestimate the warranty period and began to ask for a document stating that the store refused guarantees. I could not find the samples of such a document on the Internet and thought that this was the end, but for the sake of interest I drew this document in Photoshop.

They accepted it! Everything became a little more complicated, but there was no problem.

This continued until 2012. The agents began to ask them to make a photo of the problem with the device, or even a video, if the problem is not shown in the photo. This, too, was not difficult, you had to show creative and Photoshop skills.

It seems in the same year, they remembered their practice of physical destruction of the replaced device. But they asked only to cut off the wire if the device was wired, or to drown in the water a wireless keyboard / mouse.
(Somehow I was asked to cut off the wire from the wireless G700 lol)

In the first case I helped again with Photoshop, in the second one it turned out that the Logitech devices perfectly tolerate water procedures, I have the Performance MX and K800, which were drowned no less than 5 times, and still work fine!

In addition, I and friends had by that time a lot of Logitech devices in personal use and to sacrifice one was not a pity, cut the wire once, and then use the device with a cut wire for a photo many times.

While on this I want to stop, the text turned out quite a lot. I want to sum up: I was very surprised that in your countries for replacement it's just a serial number, not even a photo from the device itself. Sometimes a reciept. It is much more difficult for us in Russia to get a replacement, maybe sometime my experience will be useful to you. If you are interested, I can continue my stories. Perhaps I will find among my users like-minded people, business partners or even friends.

    P.S. After a while, I'll post a photo-proof about what I wrote here.

    Thank you for attention.
