As the title say, perhaps are you planning on creating a discord server for PlayerUp.com? It can be use in so many ways like General Lounge(Public Chat), Private Lounge, Live Support, Announcements, etc...
Instead of creating a discord server, maybe adding a new category like playerup does? Some section on the site where you can talk about your favorite games, advertise stuff, ask questions etc. Also you can check my thread, I asked about Live Middleman Support.
No plans as of now to add an official discord server. Unofficial could be an option. We have a new chat system coming. It's already integrated we just need to style it a bit more. Much more unique and not exploitable like the last one. If something like this comes in, we would prefer to release it more towards Q3-Q4 2017. Our concerns right now with releasing a discord server are: - We'd have to monitor it - It could lead to exploitation and increased scams - People would primarily use it to spam advertise
I see. I understand where the concerns are coming from especially about the lack of staff to monitor the Discord server and I do agree that it may just cause a lot of scams/spams than there already was. The thing that's on my mind when i suggested this was since you were looking to hire some community moderator from your site maybe you can get them to monitor & do some customer support on the Discord server. P.S. Lets hope for the best this year~
Lets rule out a discord server for now. We'd have to monitor it to prevent scams. Once we add moderators, then we can re-explore this.
Would this be up for interest now as you have your mods? Even me and Rolan could moderate it if he was up for it?
