    Red-H - Web Hosting Services Inc. is looking for a Linux enthusiast, passionate about managing and optimizing web servers and new virtualization trends, to fill a position as a Linux System Administrator.

    Responsibilities

    Participate in the development and search of solutions related to the automation, security, performance and redundancy of our systems
    Ensure the smooth running of a production environment composed of shared, dedicated, and virtualized web hosting servers
    Optimize the performance of LAMP servers, and implement improvements in line with new trends in the industry
    Participate in regular audits of the performance of Apache servers, MySQL / PostgreSQL databases, mail (Exim), DNS (Bind)
    Co-ordinate customer support team efforts to help customers resolve issues quickly
    Respond in real time to performance, availability, and security issues on servers
    Participate in the resolution of Level 3 tickets through our Helpdesk system
    Write procedures detailing the various recurring maintenance activities required and perform ad hoc training with the agents who will perform them.
    Configure, optimize, and implement new systems according to the specific requirements of the company or customers.


    Wanted Skills

    Minimum 3 years experience in Linux web server administration (Apache or nginx)
    Excellent mastery of the cPanel / WHM management system (Plesk experience an asset)
    Good knowledge of virtualization platforms such as Xen, KVM, VMWare, ESXi, OnApp or OpenStack.
    Experience in Linux server management via the command line and in Bash scripting
    Excellent communication and ability to explain a technical problem (or solution) to a non-technical audience
    Good knowledge of email systems and protocols (POP / IMAP / SMTP), and mail servers (Exim, Dovecot, Courier)
    Excellent knowledge of web concepts such as DNS and IPv4 / 6
    Experience in MySQL # system management
    Basic knowledge of Linux scripting / programming languages (PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby)
    Knowledge of automation systems (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) an asset

    Must be 18+.
