Amazon help pleeeease?

Hi. New poster here, but love reading all the threads =) First time I've needed help.

I've only done a few refunds, less than $100 each, never a problem. Just moved cross country so have new address. No refunds ever on this acct. Purchased $300 item i needed, tried the empty box. First rep asked me to hold while they contact shipper. I disconnected. Second said the package weighed 24 pounds and they need to start investigation with shipper. Ugh. Any way to salvage this? Do they keep chat logs and check them or can I try again? Should I just say turns out kids played a prank on me and I found it? I really need 2 tablets, should I scrap this and try to double dip 2 tablets to recoup some? I really needed this refund =( I don't want the accounts locked though, I have several accts years old I want to hang on to. Maybe I could send another to my brother under his name/address (very rural) and get a double dip to recoup? Anyone willing to help me via chat or something, I'm very novice on this.
