I was given a NetSpend prepaid visa giftcard for my birthday but when I tried to register it online, I discovered that it requires proof of identity which means giving them your social security number or whatever form of identification used from where you live. My parents feel uncomfortable putting in their information even though NetSpend seems trustworthy.
