Bought a base off him, no middleman, he said he is upgrading a few things for me but isn't answering and hasn't for a few hours, should I worry?

I'm not sure what you want us to tell you here. The seller has a few reputation, middleman informed you about this and the seller has asked you to remain patient so you should allow him sometime to fix the issue before panicking.
