How different are refunds for different companies?

    So, I head over to marketplace, and there's people doing...like 50 companies at once.
    I would guess companies aren't that different when refunding, right?

    Maybe some have different policies but most of the time you can probably get away with product didn't arrive or something.
    For example, here's a few excuses that I guess are pretty common:
    • Product dropped off (hint in conspicuous place, also hint bad neighborhood and possibility of stolen) and stolen
    • Ordered two/three/four but only got one (also say you got invoice for two but only one item)
    • [ ? ] Say you accidentally put the wrong address and you talked to customer support to change it but it wasn't changed? (could be risky because then they might talk personally to customer support and give you the banhammer)


    I would guess these would work pretty well, except for the last one.

    A few more questions, please:
    • How commonly do companies give tracking numbers? I would guess it's most of the time, right?
    • How specialized are different companies? Can you usually throw the same excuse at different companies and have it work?
