Provide All Chat Logs and Additional Information Below An account was being sold for $50 by Cydiachristie here on playerup. Will ask you to add him/her on line (Cydia_Won) and kik (christieallison122). It was my first time and was not sure how middleman works. Upon agreeing that we wanted to push through with the transaction through middleman and to use Circle Pay as the method of payment (will reitirate to link the debit card), I was asked to provide my playerup id and email address. Few minutes later, I received an email from PlayerUp [email protected] stating that Cydiachristie has been verfied and to contact [email protected] to discuss how to process the payment. Sent an email and I got a response stating to forward the $50 payment to [email protected]. So I did and forwarded a screenshot of the confirmed transaction. I was advised that it was not received and to resend it. I have doubts, but stupid me still did it and again, immediately sent a screenshot of the confirmed transaction. To my surpirse, I was told that he only received $10 and that he will show me proof. it took a while before I received a picture taken of a computer screen (not a screenshot) that they received $10. They told me to send another $40, but I said to give a screenshot of the whole conversation/transaction window, since I thought they can easily make up an image of it (that's why it took them that long to send me the proof). I was told to send the $40 first before they send any proof. I just let it go since it was already late at night and I was not home. Sent a message [email protected] through CirclePay around early morning of December 3rd, but did not get a reply - so I let it go and just accepted the fact that I got scammed for $100. 6:17am today, December 4th, I received a message from Cydia_Won on Line app, saying that "he sent me the money". So I was surprised, since the last message conversation I had with the so called "middleman" was he only received $10. Got hope and chatted, thinking might as well get something out of it even for an extra $50. He wants me to download teamviewer on my computer and added that he will show me how to get player accounts for free, even better than his account. Further more, he/she wants to remotely access my computer to show the "complicated" way to do it. I told him just tell me the steps since that will not happen. Repeatedly told me to go on Teamviewer and proved the id and password to remotely access my computer. That point, I told him to just refund my the $100. He said "bye" "then". I messaged the "middleman" through Circlepay to refund me the $100 since I do not want the account anymore. I was surprised to get a response saying "If you want the account download TeamViewer", followed by "That's required". So there and then, I knew I already lost the $100. I'd rather lose that than get # or something. I am still hoping to get refunded, which I know is a stretch. But to anyone who's first time doing this, please research first and watchout for this kind of scammers. Can you revert the payment you made via Circle Pay? i suggest you do it immediately if its possible. This user is clearly a fraud and is trying to impersonate as PlayerUp's @Middleman

I tried, but I couldn't. I guess that's why choice of payment is through CirclePay. Since once it has been successfully processed, nothing can be done to revert it back.

Oh, that's unfortunate to hear. I have already suspended the user, however they can still give their side of the story hear if they do have one.

I strongly recommend in the future to use PlayerUp Middleman Services to protect yourself from these type of scams. Here is how it works for buyers (Buyers Guide) and here is how it works for sellers (Sellers Guide). Is there anything we can do to assist you still with this dispute? Please read this guide (Guide - Combat Fraud Service). All we need is the scammers full name and address and we can assist you further. What can you do next to resolve this issue? Since this is a PayPal transaction, you need to immediately go to PayPal and open a dispute hopefully before the seller moves those funds. In order to do that, go to your paypal receipt, and see the area where it says resolution or dispute payment. Open a dispute and provide them as much proof as possible. Contact PayPal as well and ask them what you need to do to win a dispute. Keep in constant communication with paypal. If you sent the payment by family and friends then unfortunately those funds are lost as you cannot dispute those payments and we strongly advise against sending friends and family payments in the future even if the seller requires it you can easily say no.
