For those that are aiming for high might account like a rallier or such, I strongly advice getting cheap gems at lower might before boosting your account. You need jewels to support your stats late game and the gems you get from buying champion packs(which provides the materials used to craft the ultimate late game gear set that is used 95% of the high end fights) is far from enough to get your the attack jewels to gold.(You need 8 attack jewels of each to become a complete rallier that has the potential to beat anyone else with same full gold champ set as the current stats of defense jewels is shitty Just ask any full gold champ set owner)
For average players that aiming for T4 accounts, try to save up gems for the building materials(war tome, steel cuffs, soul crystals) and buy gems for speedups or other stuff as it is almost 50% more expensive to get those items from gifting.
For other players, it is always beneficial to upgrade your treasure trove to max in order to maximize your gain whenever you upgrade your castle.
For f2p players..... Well, I would say u might wanna buy packs first though I hate to say it lol.. It is worthing more in the long run with the research/building/training bonuses from heroes or gears. Especially griffon and noceros, and/or research heroes and/or monster hunt gear packs.
