Date 8/7/17 My son Sebastian was the buyer Total transaction $20 USD - but please note the problem is greater than that. He talked my son into signing into his icloud using the seller's apple id. The individual then changed the password and has control of my son's phone. He is asking for $50 USD to let him have the correct password to get in now. His name is fdomiziano method used. He insisted on a STEAM card email address for him is [email protected] username Flavio domiziano all conversation took place on KIK his id there is F93D I have attached the final snapchat where my son asked if he was scammed and the guy asks for $50. So, not only has he lost $20 USD ( a lot for a child) he has also been locked out of his $1400 iPhone....... I am interested to know WHY this seller is allowed to operate on your site as he is flagged as high risk? If you know he is ripping people off why do you let him continue to operate? I was unaware my son was doing this, so yes, he was stupid... yes his is a child. You can see by the questions he was asking the rip off artists... where's icloud.. etc. I have 67 more screenshots of the KIK conversation before he logged the phone as lost and erased it.
Don't pay the guy. He's obviously not going to work with you to resolve this. His email is [email protected] He was flagged as high risk for a reason but it wasn't due to confirmed fraud, it was due to potential risky behavior. If he was flagged as fraud, he would have been banned. Being that he was flagged as high risk, that should have been an early sign to not trust him. Our system did our part to warn you, but you opted to ignore it and trust him. We can only do so much to try to protect people. So now the next step is going to be to contact Apple. Inform Apple someone has compromised your device/apple login and you need assistance. They're either going to help you restore your apple gamecenter and give you a new password or they're going to have you reset your device. The phone is fine, nothing to worry about there. They'll help restore your device shortly. We won't be able to do this on our end unfortunately as we were not directly involved. The fastest way to fix this is just contact Apple. The $20 steam card is lost. Luckily it's only $20. Don't do business anymore on IM messengers offsite. It's already warned all over the site this is where scam artists will lure you and bait you into their many scams.
How can you protect yourself from these type of scams in the future? I strongly recommend in the future to use PlayerUp Middleman Services to protect yourself from these type of scams. Here is how it works for buyers (Buyers Guide) and here is how it works for sellers (Sellers Guide). Is there anything we can do to assist you still with this dispute? Please read this guide (Guide - Combat Fraud Service). All we need is the scammers full name and address and we can assist you further. Can PlayerUp provide compensation for this dispute? Since this is a non middleman transaction and PlayerUp wasn't directly involved with safeguarding your payment and guaranteeing your transaction we will unfortunately not be able to provide any compensation for you on this transaction as you dealt directly with the individual for which you're submitting a complaint against in this ticket. However if you're able to locate his full name and address, we can possibly go after him but there is no guarantee we'll be able to recover any lost funds - Guide - Combat Fraud Service How can I protect myself in the future? We strongly advise that you don't conduct business offsite. This is the #1 way scammers attract buyers and sellers is they lure them offsite and then bait them into anything because they have no consequences for their actions. If you did business on site, then disregard this message as the majority of scams are done offsite. . .
I agree, as I said my son did this , not me. I agree, Basty has learned a big lesson for $20. Luckily the phone was bought online rom Apple and we have the receipt . I called them within 30minutes of the problem but it'll take while to sort. I'll have Basty read your message too as he needs to learn to be more cybersafe. Thanks for replying. If you ban him,he'll just operate under another email I'm sure... he appears to be a Russian as some of the messages I got were in Russian
