These cases in the US would not be pursued criminally. Too small of a dollar amount. It would have to be pursued civilly.
Also will add the problem with this if it was an option is Western Union defends the disputes. Like airline companies, it's very difficult to reverse a payment on them. You can initially win but they'll later comeback and return the funds to Western Union.
@Admin, is there any way that u can refund the payment done to Icehunter via middlemen. If so please do it.... Icehunter must be punished severely for this act
Well in this buyers case, he could sue him in Vietnam. That maybe an option as the lawyer fees would likely be inexpensive. Basically hire someone from Vietnam to sue him including attorney fees. However, legal would need to research this for him if he decides to go this route. It would be a time consuming process but maybe he's up for it.
I assume this would be easier if they were both located in the same country or does that have affect?
@Admin Man , You're dedicated , I live in the same country as Al kindi , He used an exchange to send the money (Al-Fardan) So he should go there and go to the western union window and tell them truthfully what happened and maybe the cash was not picked up or it will give the true identity of the guy since he has to show some sort of identification.
Bro everyone here is working to help you get your money back, have faith, you'll get it returned :0) Best of luck man.
Hey @alkindi You can go through the Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3. it'll help you against those kind of people but the only issue you'll face that you'll need an evidence for the scam. The IC3 was established as a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to serve as a means to receive Internet related criminal complaints. Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home The IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the actual victim or from a third party to the complainant. They will process your complaint if they receive accurate and complete information from you. When filing a complaint, provide the following information: Your name Your mailing address Your telephone number The name, address, telephone number, and Web address, if available, of the individual or organization you believe defrauded you. Specific details on how, why, and when you believe you were defrauded. Any other relevant information you believe is necessary to support your complaint. i Hope that could help you mate If you needed any Translate / Arabic language feel free to pm me , am always Up for help ~Shehap لو احتجت اى مساعده علشان تفهم اللى انا كاتبه كلمنى على الخاص وانا بشرحلك ازاى تقدر تبلغ عنه وان شاء الله فلوسك بترجعلك بس بعد فتره
@Rolan Then the cops are his only way and court , Cause if the cash was picked up that means its no longer a "Virtual" transaction , Its now physical they can't refund cash they can only refund money that was still on a computer or that wasn't cashed out . Of course contact western union and stuff to get him blacklisted and maybe get a hit on his real name and stuff if that is still unkown and we he can then go to court
@munclesonkey know when western union and paypal says they dont cover virtual good trades means if someone disputes and you claim you gave them virtual good most likely you wont win the dispute.
A friend of mine got scammed on eBay for 3,750$ , and after contacting IC3 , he got his money back ( but he hired an lawyer )
Depending on state/country law yes you can get it back with lawyer with enough evidence to conclude your claim. Also defintely matters about the amount that was stolen to even take it into legal issue.
