Hello all! After looking at the SotM entries, I have come to a conclusion. I suck. I have been using GIMP, but should I switch to Photoshop? Most people use Photoshop I believe, and I thought I might give it a try to see what I like more. So what do you guys think? Should I try out Photoshop? This may be in the wrong section! well im gonna pum this thread, does anyone know howto create scanlines in gimp? and i suggest gimp, alot bigger and its fre. To make scanlines, just make a new transparent 5x5. Then use the 1 pixel pencil tool to draw a line diagonally along the canvas. Save as scanlines.pat and put it in your patterns folder within the GIMP folder. PS: Photoshop is free for me. Lol! I dont have a clue howto do that. please send me the .pat file. I think depending if you have enough money to spare for this then maybe it would be a good idea. But it doesn't really matter the program. Photo Shop may just make it easier to do certain things then in Gimp. But you should still be able to do good in Gimp just may take longer PS: Moved this Thread to General Section since this doesn't seem to fit any where else Go for PS >.> Don't ask anymore... thats obvious! : D Photoshop is the way to go. Despite that I use CS3 to make signatures I don't want to move to CS4 cause I have no need to do 3d. : / Until they come out with a CS5 or CS6 maybe I might switch over who knows I can do a lot of sigging in cs2 and 1 if I wanted to. You can do well art wise with both programs. I think that PS does offer an ease with tools. A small anecdote weapons they are tools, and you don't need a big gun, if you can't even wield it properly without training yourself. So, despite you might suck now which we all started out as that. We continued to look for new ways to improve, etc. I think it comes down to a bit of creativity and passion, of course a lot of reading. Comes down to it Gimp maybe harder to learn, but you can do a lot with it, but it is a good idea to switch over. Cause once you go premium sometimes you can't go back. PS is the most preferred and the best one to opt, I use CS4. Never heard of anything like GIMP.
