Up for preorder at a great price now - includes all 7 movies (unrated versions) in a Blu-ray / Digital HD combo pack for $17.49. Release date is September 23rd. Breaks down to $2.50 each movie.

Thanks, ordered one. I think I own most of these on DVD, but I've still only watched the first two. Now I can dump the DVDs and watch the whole set around Halloween.

MSRP $24.99 it'll be on sale $9.99 or less around halloween or after

In case anyone needs an opinion on the series, they aren't full blown rehashes as you may think. The series is consistent, taking a general story and filling in the blanks as they go along. You see the story expand out and gradually get richer and deeper with the history behind the main antagonist, Jigsaw (the first movie alone offers a pretty big twist). I didn't expect much at first with seven movies, but after the first movie, I wanted to see more...and in the course of a single day, I was thrown back by the suspense more than I was by the violence.

Can someone clarify something for me? I quit watching the films after they got super convoluted (around 4 or 5), but WTF is the "Saw 3D" nonsense? Is it OoP or something? Or do all copies of the 7th movie come in 3D? I looked it up on Amazon and it said "Formerly 3D" so I am confused. And what kind of 3D are we talking anyways? Stereoscopic, the red/blue nonsense, what? I remember hearing it was actually filmed in 3D from the start, if that's true seems like 3D was intended to be a big part of the experience.

Saw 3D is just the 3D version of Saw: The Final Chapter or Saw VII as it's sometimes known. I have no idea what kind of 3D it is, I ignore all that kind of stuff.

I gotcha, thanks for the explanation, but does this 3D version even exist anywhere? Cause a couple google searches are just showing the standard Blu Ray, and I see nothing about a 3D version on that.

If it jumped the shark anywhere, I'd say Saw II was the start. Saw II-VII have far more in common with each other than they do with the first Saw.

Well . That really sucks, I'd have been interested in the novelty of a 3D Saw but no way would I touch it for $35. Oh well, thanks for the clarification.

I would say that once the second movie came around, it started to expand out the story behind Jigsaw. I got through all the movies, and while the premise of dealing with victims is consistent (forcing them to endure a situation that teaches a harsh lesson that could either kill them or not), the stories in each chapter gradually add more and more to the lore. The series overall is good IMO, you just have to look at it for the story more and not so much for the violence.

Just a heads up this set only has 3 discs. I don't know how they crammed 7 movies into 3 discs but I would be worried about the quality and extra features if your into that. Also since there's been some talk about the 3d version, I had owned it but later sold it because I didn't think the 3d was all that great even though it was shot in 3d.

Let me ask, have you read any of the Saw comics? And wasn't there some Saw videogame? Just curious how far you've gotten into the story. I haven't went into it any beyond the movies, and even there I quit at like the 4th or 5th.

Saw 3D is stereoscopic 3D. I saw it in theaters in 3D and bought the 3D blu the day it was released. Looks great at 1080p via Active Shutter glasses. I wasn't aware it was OoP, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a BB exclusive, I think that's where I bought it.

I will buy these when is $9.99 with free movie thicket for Saw VIII? I think it is lol Otherwise not worth it for me lol

There were two Saw videogames, both kind of played like linear versions of Silent Hill. I enjoyed them. Even going for a platinum, they were short games, but not too short. Easily finishable in a weekend.

Huh, I wrote them off as shovelware crap, especially after seeing a score somewhere under 50 on Metacritic. I didn't know there were two of them though.

I went all the way. I did n
