Hello, so I sold an account about 10-15 days ago through Paypal and now a buyer filled a dispute. I got this message from Paypal this morning "The buyer has filed a claim stating this transaction was made without the account holder’s knowledge or consent or transacted in error.". The fact is, that he sent the money for friends and family and he still filled a dispute ! I know he hasn't a lot of changes to win this dispute, but what should I respond ? How to win this dispute smooth and quickly ? If I say I sold an account then Paypal will ask for the details or something else probably, which I don't have, we were chatting on Playerup messenger and I don't even remember his nickname.
Based on what you said, it's an unauthorized dispute. If that's the case, then the payment was fraudulent unless a false dispute was filed. PayPal will automatically side with the buyer on unauthorized disputes. I work in a marketing software business myself and we often get these. We never win no matter what evidence we provide unless PayPal determines the claim was false which they won't unless you respond. You have to respond at least otherwise you have no chance as PayPal will naturally assume you are taking liability for the transaction.
What if i would say he paid for a debt ? btw he paid for friends and family, I thought these transactions are not secured for buyers
I cannot give you a good answer to this. Honestly I'm having PayPal problems myself so I know the frustration but I'm done with PayPal once this is fixed. Going to just pay through middleman through amazon from now on. Personally I really dislike PayPal.
I see only three options when I select resolve the claim/ I have shipped the item and I can provide proof that the item was shipped through an approved shipper to the address on the Transaction Details page. I have not shipped the item and I will refund the payment. I have refunded the payment for this transaction. Omg, it seems I have no changes to win this dispute.
Select this option: It's tough because it's an unauthorized dispute. Unless it's filed under a false dispute, you will lose. We get these often ourselves and it's a shame PayPal doesn't put more security into their payment process like an email pin code system to safeguard sellers. Try to contact the buyer by e-mail to get the issue resolved.
